Law Commission consultation on homicide offences
Overview
This is a public consultation by the Law Commission for England and Wales.
We are conducting a review of the law of homicide and considering the need for reform to improve its clarity, coherence, fairness and effectiveness. The review is divided into three strands; homicide offences, defences (including partial defences to murder and full defences applicable to homicide) and sentencing. In this consultation we are asking questions about the homicide offences. We will hold a public consultation on defences and sentencing in future.

We recommend that consultees read the consultation paper on homicide offences before responding to the consultation. A shorter summary is also available. Consultees do not need to answer all the questions if they are only interested in some aspects of the consultation.
