Chapter 2: What is a new funerary method?

Consultation Question 1.

See paragraph 2.29 of the Consultation Paper.

We provisionally propose that a new funerary method is:

(1) a process;

(2) other than burial, cremation or burial at sea;

(3) that breaks down the body of a deceased person; and

(4) which has the purpose of disposing of the body of a deceased person (and not, for example, the purpose of preserving or researching bodies).
