Law Commission consultation on homicide offences - Easy Read

Overview

This is a public consultation by the Law Commission for England and Wales.

The Government has asked us to look at the law about homicide. Homicide is when a person kills another person. Many people think the current law of homicide is not fair or clear enough.

In this consultation we are asking questions about the homicide offences. We will hold a public consultation on defences and sentencing in future.

For more information about this project click here.

We recommend that consultees read the homicide offences Easy Read paper before answering these questions. The full consultation paper and a shorter summary are also available but these are not in Easy Read.
