We provisionally propose to adopt the definition of kinship care contained in section 22I of the Children Act 1989 (and set out at paragraph 3.48 of this consultation paper) for the purposes of our proposed kinship care order and kinship parental responsibility agreements.
Do consultees agree?
We ask for consultees’ views on whether a child in a kinship care arrangement in England and Wales, as defined in this consultation paper, should automatically come within the category of a “child in need”.
