Response form for the Easy Read summary of the kinship care consultation paper
Overview
We are the Law Commission of England and Wales.
The UK Government asked us to look at the law on kinship care.
Kinship care is when children are cared for by family members or close family friends instead of their parents.
We wrote a paper called a consultation paper. The consultation paper tells you about problems with kinship care law and the ways the law could be made better. You can read the Easy Read version here. You can read a Welsh version of the Easy Read here.
We are asking people what they think about changing the law on kinship care. Please send your answers to us by 16 October 2026.
When you click ‘share your views’ below, there are 3 pages before you get to the end. The first is an ‘about you’ question page, where we ask you if you want your answers to be private or prefer us not to use your name. The second is a short response form for the Easy Read summary of our consultation paper. The third page is a list of 3 charities which provide help and support.
It would be helpful if you could fill in a short, private survey to help us to understand who has sent us answers. However, you do not have to do this.
